What is sandwiched between both the evening and day guild meetings in February?
Did you guess? It’s Valentine’s Day, and Programs is trying to make your Valentine’s Day special. And what do we have planned for your Valentine? A fabulous collection of books donated by Shay Barsabe to be included in a Book Sale/Give-away. When choosing books, remember all your knitting friends who would rejoice in a thoughtful gift from you. The book sale will be on the Honor System, and cash and checks are the form of payment accepted.
Got a Yen for Yarn?
We’re sponsoring a YARN GIVEAWAY from another generous donor to the Guild. The yarn supply will be divided equally between the evening and day meetings. We are an equal opportunity donation center. No payment required for the yarn. If you are so inclined, a donation can be made (as long as it is not yarn or books…tee-hee). Please bring bags or boxes to remove your treasures as we will be collecting plastic bags for re-use.
The meetings will be both casual and fun. The evening meeting will include a short informative session by Kelli Freitas, a Forensic Interviewer with the County of Santa Cruz District Attorney’s Office. She will again speak at the April 18 Day meeting. Ann Marie Molyneux developed a project where Guild volunteers created cozy, handmade apparel for some very plush Teddy Bears. Kelli was happy to distribute the bears to children during interviews and will provide an update on the program at the meetings. Ann Marie is looking for another source for quality bears to begin Round 2 of the Teddy Bear Project. To fill the extra time left in the day meeting, there will be a surprise feature.
