Evening Guild Meeting October 8
DON’T GO TO SHETLAND WOOL WEEK….before you see our pictorial expedition of Shetland Wool Week 2023.
Some of us have been to wool festivals, but SWW is truly unique. We want to help you feel like you were part of it, too.
We traveled to the Islands, meeting hundreds of knitters, dyers, weavers, and spinners from around the world. We connected with creative designers of Fair Isle knitwear, including the world’s fastest knitter. We visited Crofts where sheep were bred, and yarn was spun and sold. We marveled at the rugged beauty of an island almost split by the Atlantic Ocean and North Sea, separated by just 33 meters. We expanded our skills, taking classes in Fair Isle, lace knitting, and color blending. We enjoyed Community Center lunches and teas with tables of Home Bakes.
We also met some of the kindest and most helpful people in the world, the Shetland Islanders.
We plan to share our pictures, memories, and home bakes with you.

COLOR THEORY
Presented by Dorothy. Please bring any color work you have to share (doesn’t need to be your work) and anything else you can share on the subject (books, exercises, variegated yarn, and such). Let’s have fun with this!
