Knitting in Public
The Guild participates in Worldwide Knit in Public Day in June. We gather in downtown Santa Cruz and knit while people stop by and talk about knitting.
Santa Cruz County Fair

Each fall the Guild has a display table at the Santa Cruz County Fair. It is here that members interact with fair-goers to talk about knitting, teach finger-knitting to children and promote knitting in general.
Holiday Party
In December the Guild holds one combined membership meeting for both evening and day attendees on the second Tuesday evening. It includes a potluck, gift exchange, election of officers, and often a silent auction to raise funds for charity. This is for members only.
Retreats
Annual Retreat

The Knitting Guild of Santa Cruz sponsors an Annual Fall Retreat at St. Francis Retreat Center in San Juan Bautista in September. It is a time to get away from the craziness of daily life and connect with other like souls for a few days in a beautiful setting. Nothing but knitting, eating, sleeping, or walking as you wish. St. Francis Retreat Center is a beautiful setting that is conducive to relaxation, inspiration, and camaraderie. We try to keep the cost down to make it affordable to our members.
Mini Retreats
From time to time a member will host an informal mini retreat at their home. It is a nice time to share knitting, companionship and food.
Monthly Casual Meetups
Check your Knitting Guild Newsletter each month for information on any planned casual meetups. If meetups are to be online, your newsletter will inform you of date, time, and Zoom info.
