In a repeat for all of us who missed Roy Clemes in the June evening presentation, Roy will present how your yarn gets to you from a sheep once it has been sheared. Fiber preparation of the sheared and washed fleece using a flicker, Lock Pop, hand cards, blending board, and drum carder will be demonstrated. Characteristics of breeds for spinning will be discussed. Understanding woolen- vs worsted-spun yarn and deciding which will produce the type of fiber you want for your project will be discussed.  Are you able to participate in the process? Henry and Roy Clemes will present the steps in the selecting and preparing fleece that you can spin into yarn to achieve your perfect knitting project.

This was a fascinating presentation in June for the day group, and we will hold it again in August for the evening meeting, not presented because of a scheduling mix up.
